Ethical Issues on Digital Photography

With the latest innovations in digital photography, we no longer need to have the usual negatives of our cameras developed just like we did in the past. What we have now are digital cameras and digital single lens reflex that made camera films obsolete. Pictures can now be easily manipulated through the use of softwares such as the Photoshop.

This ability to manipulate images often raise ethical issues because digital manipulations are not widely accepted by audiences. Some consider it dishonesty, while some consider it art. For example, covers of fashion magazines are almost always digitally manipulated to make the models appear skinnier. The little enhancements can sometimes turn out to be deceitful to magazine subscribers.
